IQNdex US by Job Sector

  • The Technical-IT job sector has exhibited slow but steady rate increases since January 2011, with another modest increase in 2Q 2012 of 1.5%. (See IQNtrospective 2Q12.2 – Spending on the Next Big Thing.)
  • Rates in the Light Industrial sector turned upward in the second quarter of 2012, after a decline in the second half of 2011 and a flat 1Q 2012. Warehousing and distribution titles, including Forklift Operator, Materials Handler and Packer, led the increase.
  • The Professional-Managerial job sector has remained flat in 2012. Sales Representatives, Buyers and Regulatory Compliance Analyst were among the titles showing higher rates, while Auditor, Copywriter/Writer and Specialized Finance /Accounting Consultant saw lower bill rates.
  • The Office-Clerical job sector has experienced modest downward rate movement in 2Q 2012. Most titles in this sector have been flat, but in the most recent quarter lower hourly rates for Data Entry Clerks drew the sector downward.
